Varsity Lacrosse Faces West Bloomfield in Opening Game
Share
It was opening day for the Ovid-Elsie/ St. Johns Co-op Varsity Lacrosse team. After waiting an entire season to get back to it, the Redwings had to wait two extra days. The first scheduled game was Thursday’s matchup with Bay City Central, but it was cancelled. That made today’s matchup against West Bloomfield opening day.
West Bloomfield is a powerhouse in Lacrosse and the OE/SJ loss today 0-7 shows a lot of promise.
“Today was a tale of two halves” Head Coach Patrick Witt told us. Falling behind 0-6 after two quarters, the team started to find their rhythm and hung tough with a 0-1 second half. “We have a lot of freshman and smaller players. This team will continue to get better and better as the season and future seasons go on.”
Next up for the boys lacrosse team; Brandon School District at home (Gumaer Park) on Monday.
