The Varsity Boys Basketball team started the season on the road, traveling to Eaton Rapids to take on the Greyhounds. They got off to a hot start, up 13-6 early. Guard Joe Leonard had the hot hand, draining a couple of three pointers in the first.
The Greyhounds chipped away at the lead and the Redwings were down 25-31 at the half. The third period went back and forth and at one point was tied at 40. Greyhounds 45, Redwings 40 at the end of the third.
The Redwings forced a charge early in the fourth and two three pointers by Carson Pieters had the team up by 1. Momentum shifted to the Greyhounds after that and free throws sealed the game 63-52 for the home team. The Redwings will get their chance to get the home win on Friday, as they take on the Haslett Vikings. Go Redwings!
