The St. Johns Redwings will be represented in the MHSAA Wrestling Individual State Finals for the twenty-first consecutive year. Brady Heibeck and Donovan Quin both qualified this year. Donovan took 3rd in his regional tournament and has a 30-2 record at 106 lbs, while Brady placed 2nd in the regional tournament and has a 34-14 record at 165 lbs.
I asked Brady how he was feeling. “I’m nervous. I think it’s going to be a good experience. I’ve looked at my bracket. I can beat my first guy. My second guy is going to be tough, and I can beat the third guy.”
“I’m going to win it,” said Donovan. “I’ve studied the bracket, and I know what I’m going to do.”
Speaking of brackets:
Action gets underway Friday at Ford Field. The Grand March is slated to start at 10:00, and wrestling begins at 10:30. Wrestling starts at 9:00 on Saturday. Ford Field is cashless, so keep that in mind if you are heading down.

Good Luck, Donovan, and Brady!!
