Girls back in action at DeWitt Invitational
Dan Ward
Guy yelling things for the corner
‘Cause I knew it from the start
Baby, when you broke my heart
That I had to come again
And show you that I’d win
Silly Frito Lay’s commercials. OK, now that I’ve got that earworm stuck in your head. The Lady Redwings “returned to the mat” (it kinda works) on Friday, January 4th, for a huge invitational, 30 teams and 123 girls, at DeWitt High School. The girl’s team is new to wrestling; only one of the four has significant wrestling experience. Placing in the middle of the pack was pretty respectable.
The placing for the Redwings were:
Olivia Pettigrew went 3-1 and placed 3rd
Addyson Ney went 1-2 and placed 2nd

The JV Boys are back in action at Lowell on Monday. The Varsity Boys and Girls hit the mats in Portland on Wednesday. This will be a test for the boys as they take on the D2 #5 ranked Mason Bulldogs and the D3 #7 ranked Portland Raiders. They could use all the support they can get. Wrestling should start around 5:00. Let’s take over Portland’s gym.
The JV boys and Varsity Girls wrestle on Friday at the New Lothrop Invite, and the Varsity Boys are there on Saturday.
